Biography

Dr Ihab Suwwan was a General Dental Practitioner in Amman, Jordan when he became interested in the field of Paediatric Dentistry and began to pursue specialty training. He successfully completed his master’s degree and speciality training in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Toronto in 2007. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentist of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a staff paediatric dentist at SickKids and also works as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist in a variety of community based dental offices. He utilises over 15 years of experience in this area to teach residents and fellows at SickKids Hospital in addition to Post-graduate Students in the graduate program of Pediatric Dentistry at U of T. He is fluent in Arabic and English languages.

  • Low Level Laser Therapy for the prevention of oral mucositis in children undergoing bone marrow transplantation
  • Research into practice of pediatric dentistry for special needs patients in hospital setting with a special focus on pediatric oncology patients
