A great place to work! SickKids makes Canada’s Top 100 Employers for fifth straight year

Summary:

SickKids is a great place to work and a great place to be a patient - sometimes both. Just ask staff members like Katie, Leo and Amy.

Improving the health of children is part of the SickKids mission – and sometimes those children come back to join the team.

In celebration of SickKids being named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. for the fifth straight year, we’re highlighting people who have experienced SickKids from both sides. Because SickKids is a great place to work, a great place to be a patient – and sometimes both.

“Being consistently recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers is an honour for SickKids and speaks volumes about our culture and people,” says Susan O'Dowd, Vice-President, Human Resources and Commercial Services. “We are fortunate to attract top talent from Canada and the world, and it’s especially heartwarming to know former patients want to come back and grow, learn and innovate with us to deliver on our vision of Healthier Children. A Better World.”

Below are proud staff members Katie, Leo and Amy. Long before they were hired to work at SickKids, their families entrusted the hospital with their health. And now they’re giving back to the very place that helped them when they needed it most.

Katie Lancaster as a baby and as a staff member at SickKids now. Katie's quote reads "I was flown to SickKids right after birth for emergency surgery. I grew up hearing my grandfather's stories about riding in the helicopter with me and the wonderful staff at SickKids. Now I know what he was talking about."
Katie Lancaster is an Education Administrative Coordinator in Clinical and Metabolic Genetics.
Amy Tucciarone as a baby and a SickKids staff now. Quote reads "My family and I will always be thankful to head nurse Olga and the dedicated staff who cared for me at SickKids. I owe my life to this hospital and proud to be part of the team."
Amy Tucciarone is a Program Coordinator in Bed Management.
Leo Falbo as a child and as a SickKids staff now. Quote says "After corrective surgery I was in and out of SickKids for three years. I jumped at the chance to work here and give back to the hospital that saved me. I've never thought about working anywhere else."
Leo Falbo is a Sr. Support Analyst in Information Services.
