About the Clinic

The Paediatric Dermatology Clinic provides consultations for paediatric skin conditions where past treatment has proven unsuccessful or where additional investigation is needed in order to provide treatment and/or diagnosis.

Pre-appointment Instructions

What to bring:

  • Past photos of your child’s skin issue, if available

Directions:

The Dermatology Clinic is located on the Main Floor of the Black Wing, in Clinic 7, just down the hall from Shoppers Drug Mart. If arriving by TTC, SickKids is located between Queen’s Park and St. Patrick stations on the University line.

What to Expect During Your Visit

After registration your child will be seen by a clinic nurse and/or a medical trainee (medical student/resident/fellow). A staff paediatric dermatologist will then assess your child and provide advice. Please come prepared to wait several hours at the hospital due to large volumes of patients. There will likely be more than one doctor working, so patients are not always seen in order of arrival; it is possible that someone who arrived after you may be seen by their doctor before you see your doctor. Whenever possible, bring only the child(ren) who has an appointment, as waiting room space is limited. Your child may be asked to be fully undressed during the appointment in order for the doctors to examine your child’s skin.

Clinic schedules may change at any time. If this does happen, clinic staff will contact you to notify you of the appointment change.
