Have you ever wondered what SickKids researchers do behind the doors of the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL)? Join the SickKids Research Institute as we welcome the public on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28 for Doors Open Toronto 2017.

The PGCRL is home to more than 2,000 SickKids scientists and research staff that are leading advancements in child health-care research.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.* each day, the first three floors of the PGCRL will be open to the public. Meet with SickKids researchers and participate in interactive exhibits that will help take the mystery out of science! Decode genetic information to build your own ‘bee’ and learn how genetic mutations may affect its appearance. Play with jello brain molds and learn how neuroscience research is working to improve paediatric brain injuries. Activities are child-friendly and educational, so bring the whole family!

Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the 19th floor of the building, which will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Experience the building’s unique, open-concept spaces that help spark research collaborations while taking in an incredible view of the city.

*The PGCRL is located at 686 Bay Street. Last entry is at 4:30 p.m.
