"I am delighted that SickKids has again been recognized as a Top Employer in Canada,” says Dr. Ronald Cohn, President and CEO. “We are all very proud to work at an institution that is not only ranked Number 1 in its specialty in the world, and among the very best hospitals in the world, but is also among the best places to work.”

Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

“Consistently being named to Canada’s Top 100 Employers really speaks to our ongoing efforts to ensure SickKids offers an inclusive and compassionate work culture; a supportive, safe and meaningful work environment; and opportunities for growth and development at all stages of your career,” says Susan O'Dowd, Vice-President, Human Resources and Commercial Services. “I’m incredibly proud of our collective efforts to make SickKids a wonderful place to work.”

I have always enjoyed building a natural rapport with children and their families. I spent the last year in the Emergency Department as a student where I worked closely with patients and clinical staff. Working together with an amazing team, every day was an opportunity to learn something new. I chose SickKids because I love working with kids, and I believe SickKids is full of opportunity to develop my nursing practice and have a rewarding career.
