Biography

Dr. Campos has a keen interest in epigenetics and chromatin biology. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia, after which he embarked on a postdoctoral position under the guidance of Dr. Danny Reinberg at the New York University School of Medicine. He joined SickKids Research Institute in 2015, where his team is now studying histone proteins and their chaperones.

Research

The Campos Lab aims to understand the molecular pathways by which histone chaperones lead to histone deposition, thereby influencing local chromatin structures. The lab is also examining how these pathways go awry in certain diseases, such as cancer. This is primarily done biochemically (e.g. protein level), and at the cellular level.
