Research

As a simulation educator, Dr. Fayyaz's research philosophy is rooted in the belief that simulation-based training can transform health-care education and practice. Her primary area of interest lies in utilizing simulation as a powerful tool for system and process testing to enhance the quality of care and ensure patient safety. By replicating real-world scenarios, she aims to identify potential weaknesses in health-care systems and processes, enabling us to implement necessary improvements that positively impact patient outcomes and overall healthcare delivery.

Another critical aspect of Dr. Fayyaz's research focuses on distance simulation, recognizing its immense potential for capacity building and community outreach. By harnessing the benefits of technology, she aspires to create accessible and inclusive simulation experiences that transcend geographical barriers. She is deeply committed to exploring cultural perspectives using simulation to promote cultural competence within the health-care workforce. This approach fosters empathy, communication and sensitivity, ultimately contributing to improved patient-centered care and reducing disparities in health outcomes. In all her research endeavors, she prioritizes collaboration, continuous learning and innovation.
