Biography

Dr. Christopher Lam is a paediatric body and cardiac radiologist with subspecialty interest in advanced MR imaging applications. He was appointed as the Division Head of Body and Cardiac Imaging at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2022. His clinical and academic focus is on MRI of pediatric congenital heart disease, extra-cardiac manifestations of single ventricle disease, cardiovascular hemodynamics, and lymphatic imaging. In addition, Lam is actively engaged in enhancing post-graduate medical education, fostering mentorship, and encouraging leadership development for radiology trainees.

Research

Dr. Christopher Lam's primary research involves using quantitative cardiac MRI in pediatric congenital heart disease to improve clinical outcomes in the context of pre-surgical decision making and subsequent surveillance. This work includes the investigation of multi-systemic imaging biomarkers for single ventricle disease and the clinical translation of novel cardiovascular MRI techniques.
