Biography

Dr. Joshua Ramjist is a proud native of Pickering, Ontario and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and a Staff Surgeon in the Division of Paediatric General and Thoracic Surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). He completed adult general surgery training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and Paediatric General and Thoracic Surgery fellowship at SickKids. Additionally, he completed fellowships in Paediatric Trauma, Neonatal Surgery and Paediatric Simulation Medicine at SickKids. He holds a Master of Science from the University of Toronto and Master of Business Administration from St. George’s University. He currently serves as the Co-Medical Director for the Trauma Program, the Associate Program Director for the Paediatric General & Thoracic Surgery fellowship and bariatric surgical lead for the Healthy Living Program at SickKids.  

Research

Dr. Ramjist’s primary research interest revolves around optimization of clinical care and injury prevention for children undergoing surgery and those who have endured traumatic injuries. His focus is on leveraging technology, simulation, and education to establish sustainable systems that enhance patient care.
