Biography

Marci is an ABGC certified genetic counsellor and the program manager for the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research Cardiac Genome Clinic. The Cardiac Genome Clinic is a research project that uses genome sequencing to better understand the causes of heart failure and returns results to patients for use in clinical care.

In her role as Program Manager, Marci supports the study team by assisting with research administration, genome analysis, and other related tasks to ensure the study is progressing and running smoothly.

Prior to joining SickKids, Marci worked as a research genetic counsellor for a study that returned genetic research results to biobank participants. She was also involved in genetic research as a trainee at the National Institutes of Health.

Research

Marci has an interest in innovative ways to use genomic technologies to enhance patient care. In particular, she is interested in how genetic information can be used for preventive care, particularly for cardiac and other medically actionable conditions.
