Nafilia Sachedina has a Master's degree from the University of Toronto in Social Work, with a specialization in children and families. She has an extensive background in working with diverse populations and is committed to working from an anti-oppressive/anti-racist framework. A large portion of her work has been in the child welfare cector, where she worked as a child protection worker in various capacities. Additionally, Sachedina is in private practice and provides psychotherapy to clients who need support in moving through their experiences of trauma, discomfort, and other stressors. The driving force behind her work is the belief that individuals benefit from a space in which they can feel seen, heard and validated.
Sachedina joined SickKids in January 2021 as a part-time coordinator for the Peer Support & Trauma Response Program.
