SickKids study uncovers structure and function of enzyme V-ATPase

Summary:

A new study done in Dr. John Rubinstein’s research group uncovers the structure and function of an enzyme called V-ATPase. The research is improving our understanding of the various processes that V-ATPase controls and can enable the design of drugs that influence how it works.

A new study done in Dr. John Rubinstein’s research group uncovers the structure and function of an enzyme called V-ATPase. In this video Rubinstein explains the enzyme’s role in our health and what happens when it doesn’t function properly. His research is improving our understanding of the various processes that V-ATPase controls and can enable the design of drugs that influence how it works.

The full study is published online in the May 14 edition of Nature.
