SickKids ranked one of Canada’s Top 40 Research Hospitals for 2024

SickKids holds a top spot for both researcher intensity and hospital intensity as one of Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has once again been named one of Canada’s top research hospitals, securing the number two spot on Research Infosource’s 2024 Top 40 Research Hospitals list.
SickKids ranked first in hospital intensity (proportion of total hospital spending accounted for by research) and fourth in research intensity among large-sized hospitals. This marks the 14th consecutive year that SickKids has maintained a top position, highlighting its commitment to pioneering research and promoting research-driven patient care.

SickKids Research Institute is home to over 2,000 researchers, staff and trainees who are contributing to ground-breaking research across seven different programs, including Cell Biology, Child Health Evaluative Sciences, Developmental & Stem Cell Biology, Genetics & Genome Biology, Molecular Medicine, Neurosciences & Mental Health and Translational Medicine.
Researchers at SickKids have contributed to 2,030 publications in the past year, including in many high-impact journals such as The Lancet, Cell, New England Journal of Medicine, Science and Nature.
